What’s Really G.O.O.D???

I was just catching up on some reading @ Okay Player and came across a solid review for the G.O.O.D. (Getting Out Our Dreams) music takeover at the Knitting Factory that went down September 9th. Aside from serving me a painful reminder that it’s nearly impossible to top live shows in NYC (especially when you consider how many “special guests” make historic appearances), it got me hype about the potential for this crew (G.O.O.D. = Kanye West, Common, John Legend, Sa’Ra, Consequence, Mr. Bentley, GLC and now KiD CuDi) to bring showmanship back into hip hop. By the looks of the flicks and youtubes, this show was a major success and A LOT of fun, (dag) I wish I had been there. Of course, the best live performances require reciprocation from the audience and that particular audience brought mad energy– pushing Kanye, Kid Cudi, Consequence, Mickey Factz, 88 Keys (etc etc) to bring it extra hard. Whatever your beef may be with the “quality” or “content” of their music, you can’t deny their ability to work a crowd and perform the $hit out of their music. I can only hope they make a stop in Frisco or re-create the magic when I’m back for the holidays. I do love me a sweaty Q-Tip, yummy. Here are some flicks via Mel D. Cole:

Those kicks are hot…Peep the youtube to really understand:
